Engineering Technician Position – Mountain Engineering and Testing
Summary: Mountain Engineering and Testing is looking to fill an Engineering technician positions at its Monte Vista and Salida, CO office location. The Engineering technician performs soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt testing. The position will be a full-time year-round position. Engineering Technician Duties:
- Laboratory Testing
- Gradation Soil Classification
- Atterberg Limits
- Standard and Modified Proctor Tests with Rock Correction
- Specific Gravity and Absorption of Coarse and Fine Aggregate
- Water Soluble Sulfate Concentration in Soil, pH, and Crumb Test
- Hydrometer Soil Classification
- Moisture Content of Soils
- Concrete Curing and Compressive Strength Testing
- Office Responsibilities
- Timesheet (billable and non-billable)
- Lab calculations and computer data entry
- Maintain a clean laboratory
3. Field Responsibility
- Concrete sampling and testing
- Sampling and moisture density testing of soils and asphalt
Engineering Technician Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 pounds and be comfortable on construction sites
- Have soils, concrete, asphalt, and construction experience and education
- Ability to accurately read and record technical data
- Possess a valid driver’s license and I-9 eligibility identification
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and preferably QCAD or AutoCAD experience
- Preferred candidate will currently possess the following certifications: ACI Field and Strength; CAPA A, B, and E; WAQTC Soil Inspector, and Nuclear Gauge Operation
Pay: $19-$27/hr. depending on experience, with pay advancement after achieving certifications
